Phil Manzanera (Producer):
« I found a few tracks which sounded like songs without lyrics, one became Louder Than Words and one was Anisina. I always said, 'Please can you write some words for it' and I thought Polly was going to write for both, but once she'd written Louder Than Words and the concept of it then she decided there were no words needed.
Consequently Anisina needed something extra to it and so the saxophone came in, as a lament for Rick really. It's a friend of mine Gilad Atzmon who's played (sax) on some of my things and with Robert Wyatt. He's an Israeli saxophonist and a genius. People will know his playing because of Ian Dury's Hit Me With Your Rhythm Stick .»

« They are recordings from the year 1993, when they played in a certain way. But it also contains recordings from 1968 on the great organ in the Royal Albert Hall. It was a challenge to integrate this tape into the musical wallpaper they had rolled up here. All in all, it's a very modern concept to mix different sources together. Almost like a DJ mix where everything is held together by the beat. This is possible thanks to modern technology. »

Andy Jackson (Sound engineer):

David Gilmour:
« There were about three, possibly four things we could have put songs on, but Ithink it si a better statement that there's just the one. Polly wrote these great words that sound like they come from me. Which si her view of the strange relationship that we have in this band. Which is not one of three great pals -or four great pals when Roger was apart of ti - but has this strange magic that occurs when we are together, and she thought that was avery interesting idea, to round off the whole album with this one statement of what we're like - or what Polly thinks we're like, which, to me, si ahundred per cent accurate.»
