« Carrera Panamerican Soundtrack » (1992/Gilmour, Wright, Mason)
David and Nick (along with Steve O'Rourke) take part in this South American race. Joined by Wright, they write and record a soundtrack featuring Mexico '78, Pam Am Shuffle, Small Theme, Big Theme, Carrera Slow Blues and Country Theme. This is Nick Mason's first appearance in the credits since 1973, and Rick Wright's first since 1975. The soundtrack also includes older tracks such as Run Like Hell.
Nick Mason:
« Five of us went into the studio, guys who were on our last tour, so we were on ensemble. We looked at the video and time dit. Then we’d say « well this part needs this sort of thing», and we’ work it out. Dave would play a sequence of chords. He would pick up a musical idea, and the tempo would be set. Then the bass player would work out his part, and then the drummer would work out the drum part. An fit just sort of came to life»
