6 July 1967 Cheshire’s Brereton Local Nature , London, England
On 8 July 1967, Pathé News invited the band to Brereton Nature Reserve to shoot a promotional film for The Scarecrow (directed by Tony Barrell). The intention was to show the band at the height of their Summer of Love, but also to demonstrate the progress of the colour film used by Pathé. The film was shown in a limited number of cinemas in the UK on 21 September the same year.
The film was found in the Pathé archives in very good condition But in 2006, ITN got hold of the 35mm negatives with additional 4 minutes of outtakes!
Nick Mason :
« I look at it and think, oh, that’s good, but I have no memory of where we did it, or whether we did it to sound, or what.
This is a bit like The Bourne Supremacy, like I can’t remember who I am. Suddenly there’s a man telling me that I was an assassin for the CIA … »
« Things cannot be destroyed once and for all », Record Collector,
On May 2014, the « BritishPathé » website found a previously unreleased additional tape used for an episode of « Colour Pictorial » under the reference CP 665 (the original is referenced under number PM0407). It should be noted that the first (partial) broadcast of this clip dates from a German programme in 1982, then on st1 February 1985 during the Channel Four program called « The Tube ». Both tapes are featured on the « Pink Floyd - The early years 1965-1972 » box set
Ross Landau (ITN’s head) :
« The outtakes from the British Pathe archive are the first piece of our music content to be digitised into a High Definition format. This unique footage captures one of the greatest bands of our time at the pinnacle of their career and the transfer ensures it will be preserved for years to come »
« The Scarecrow », Record Collector Magazine.
6 July 1967 « Late Night Line-up », Roundhouse, London, England
BBC 2 filmed the entire show, including The Moody Blues and Outer Limits, for an episode of « Man Alive ». Never broadcast.
«Pink Floyd were also filmed by the BBC at the Roundhouse on 9 July. A French fan says, ‘As it was filmed by television they didn’t have lightshow projections of coloured and heated gelatine. They did one of the maddest concerts I’ve ever seen. Nothing to do with well-run spectacular shows they would do in the next years. They played one or two couplets of songs from Piper, and each time unleashed wild improvisation, often dissonant, that went on for fifteen minute.»

13 July 1967 « Top of the Pops »,BBC Lime Grove Studios, London, England

17 July 1967 « Living Music », Rediffusion TV Studios, Wembley, England

19 July 1967 The Floral Hall, Gorleston, Norfolk, England
There's a lot of uncertainty surrounding the captioning of the Floyd concert, although it was stated the band's set would have been filmed by a BBC2 crew (as reported in « East Anglia Time »). Glenn Povey indicates that the performance was filmed for inclusion in one of the episodes of the « Impresarios » programme devoted specifically to the psychedelic scene and subtitled « Underground Impresarios ». As far as he was concerned, this episode was never broadcast and was replaced by a new programme entitled « Transport by Underground »
In fact, the « Underground » series devoted to the psychedelic scene was broadcast on 23 October 1967 under the title «Transport by Underground». On a side note, it was also the last episode of the series.
Now, if we read the report of this broadcast in « The Observer » newspaper of next Sunday, we realize that the segment on Pink Floyd was not broadcasted. Indeed, according to the various reports which we possess on this performance, the P.A known for numerous issues compromising the quality of the shooting. There are many issues around the footage of the Floyd’s concert if ever shouted.
20 July1967 « Top of the Pops », BBC Lime Grove Studios, Shepherds Bush, London, England Last appearance of the band with a very tired Syd. Tape erased as the others

An England chart-report with See Emily Play ranked sixth.
29 July 1967 « Love in », Alexandra Palace, London, England This photo by Michael Putland (often mistakenly attributed to the concert on April 29th) is proof that the group's set was filmed. The Floyd concert was filmed by French TV. A tape showing the sets of Eric Burdon and Julie Driscoll as well as some shots of the public exist in the archives of the INA. In France, the program «Le pouvoir des fleurs» on November 14, 1967 presented extracts from this event. On a side, the program of the French TV called «Bouton Rouge» of December 2, 1967 does not show it contrary to a tenacious rumor.
August 1967 « Hot & Sweet - Musik für Junge Leute», ZDF TV, Berlin, Germany
The Floyd were due to appear on the show but had to cancel due to Syd Barrett's mental state. « Melody Maker » wrote about it in its August issue. ZDF was one of the first European television stations to broadcast its programmes in colour. Curiously, the August 1967 issue states that the band replaced Syd Barrett with Jeff Beck for this programme.
August 1967 « US TV Movie »
The band would have been filmed for an English TV show. Very Dubious
07.08.1967 « Panorama », BBC TV, London, England
In this program devoted to the hippy movement, we see some footage of the « 14-hour Technicolor Dream » event in April, as well as some footage of the UFO at the end. Syd's girlfriend Jenny Spires is interviewed.
1st September 1967 Roundhouse, London, England Some extracts captured by german TV crew and broadcast for the first time on 15th February 1968. Some images were used inside a Show called « Lesezeichen - Das universum des Lichts » in early 80. We can only seen partial Floyd (Roger and Nick) playing Interstellar Overdrive overdubbed (from their first LP) at Roundhouse among some additional shots from UFO taken the same year. This copy was unearthed for the 70th anniversary of Syd Barrett (from a copy made in the eighties). Featured in « Pink Floyd - The early years 1965-1972».
