We saw excerpts of this video during the 2005 « Live 8 » event. This video was used before that in 1977 as part of a television advertisement to promote the release of the album. It has also been used in some of the band's programs and more recently in the promotion of album reissues called
«Why Pink Floyd ?» in 2011. Outtakes were shown during the exhibition at the Parc de la Villette in 2003. Someone filmed the screen and broadcast it more widely.

February 1977 Pavillon de Paris, Paris, France

This gig has surely been shot by the notorious french fan nicknamed Paul D. The tape (among others) are disappeared after his death in the nineties. The tape show the rehearsals and the concert as

March 1977 Empire Pool of  Wembley, London, England

One of the London concerts had been shot completely. Since there is no picture of cam on these dates seen on the pictures taken during these gigs. it seems very unlikely. However, the rehearsals were filmed by the band's management to check the visual effects.

Brian Humphries (sound engineer):

« (...) To judge their show objectively, they even asked a cameraman to film rehearsals and a full concert: when we saw the footage, we noticed a number of errors in set-up which were subsequently rectified »

This 4 minutes tape recorded in 8mm appeared on the DVD bootleg «8mm» (released on Harvested label). The audio track come from the previous date since no audio had been found for this concert. A high generation copy unlikely. But a scan of the great low-copy of the reels was done at the end of 2022 for a total of 15 minutes.
This tape was synchronized: we can hear among others Sheep, Dogs, Pigs, the two-parts of Shine on ou Wish you were here, Have a Cigar and Welcome to the machine

15 June 1977 Milwaukee Stadium, Milwaukee, USA

Two 45-second reels showing the audience around the stadium just before the show and a very short (distant) clip of the rehearsals with the introduction of Sheep were filmed for the local TV station WTMJ.  These two reels are still present in the station's archives. Only the first one was out.

23 June 1977 Riverfront Coliseum, Cincinatti, USA

25 June 1977 « World Series of Rock », Municipal Stadium, Cleveland, USA

A 90-second tape in fairly good quality. Unfortunately, it was made by Guy Balson as a plain souvenir. He is close to the rather high stage and you can only see the top of the musicians. There are a few shots of Waters during Pigs on the Wing and Gilmour on Pigs (three different ones) as well as shots of the crowd and the pig at the end of the reel.  You can also see the inflatable props (as the TV set, the sofa, etc.) and the famous sheep-shaped parachutes propelled by air cannons!

July 1977 Madison Square Garden, New York, USA

One of the New York concerts would be filmed. It’s possibly the same person, an Italian, who filmed the Genesis concert of 1976. This tape would have seen on eBay in 2006.

6 July 1977 « Journal », Radio-Canada TV, Montréal, Canada

A « Radio-Canada » report on the evening TV news show which features shots around the stadium. The reporter states that they cannot take pictures inside the stadium since the group objected to a television coverage of the event. The ban on filming inside the enclosure is confirmed by the Quebec press too.

6 July 1977 Stade Olympique, Montréal, Canada

Given the high profile of the concert in Canada (it was presented as a special event, in particular because the  Stade Olympique was hosting a rock concert for the first time) and the huge audience (still an all-time record), many people claimed to have seen video material. Nevertheless, the band and management had imposed a blockade on the local press, as attested by the Quebec press at the time

«He was forbidden to enter the Stadium with the CBC cameraman (in the afternoon), claiming that the Pink Floyd group opposed it, not needing advertising»

«Les 80,000 fans de Pink Floyd auraient dû mettre leurs $10 sur un album au lieu d'aller le voir», La Presse, 7 July 1977

While professional teams (such as those from Radio Canada or the CBC) were excluded, it was inevitable that some of the many spectators would bring along super 8mm cameras. Although security was strict at first, it was soon overwhelmed by the flood of spectators, some of whom took advantage of openings here and there in a stadium still under construction.
Finally, one of these amateur testimonials was added to the « Kino Library » archive under the reference JK9. It is a short account with a front shot showing the whole band but very little of the effects of the stadium. A longer version of this tape exists

A second source was released in June 2023. This is a 15-minute super 8mm film of very good quality which features all the songs (but partially due to the technical limitations of 8mm film) with the exception of the final encore. This tape, filmed by Daniel Graham, has been added to the « Lola Clips » image bank. This source is under synchronisation by the famous collector Nick from the « Pink Floyd research group »  An particular interesting thing is to see the legendary spitting incident occur at 1:41 with Waters spitting on the audience!
